Default Got A New B King Yesterday!!

Hey, I just got a cruiser last season but was finding the ride a little less than scintillating some times. Not really looking for another bike as I enjoyed lots about the cruiser.....but then I noticed a Suzuki dealer in Toronto selling brand new non current B Kings selling for $8999!!

So I ran down and took one for a ride for just less than an hour and liked the sporty feel and the awesome power and the brakes wowwed me too!

We worked out a deal and I even called around and made some inquiries and this place was $2000 cheaper than anyone else!

So I went for it:

I got off the thing and had a big grin on my face and then I pretty much knew it was for me. I find the styling kinda rocks; I know it looks a little ungainly from some angles but in the flesh it looks really cool.

Here is the weirdest part: I am heading off to California in a month and cruising around a bit and then visiting relatives in Las Vegas and Colorado Springs and really want to take the cruiser on this journey. So I set it up so I can do all this and put 13000 km. on the bike and STILL trade it in after. They will hold onto the B King for me no problem. Way cool.

You like the look of the thing? Looks like it could be darth vader's bike, I know, lol, but it does knock me out in person....

Horsepower is 181 by some accounts - it has the Hayabusa four but slightly detuned cuz of more restrictive exhaust and airbox and it supposedly weighs 515-525 so it just frickin screams down the road. When I got on it, it felt a little heavy but then as soon as it got moving, it felt good and smaller than it really is. It handles very well and the brakes seem awesome (though in tests they say the brakes are the weakest link).

I trundled around a bit at 4-5000 rpm on the thing and it seemed very docile....but when I got the revs up above 6000 it really pulled and felt very good. Not unmanageable but very fast....
